MathWe recently began Module 4: Division and Multiplication of Fractions! The class as a whole did an awesome job on their first exit ticket quiz last week :) The mid module test will be in about 2 weeks! I will also be emailing some parent tip sheets if you would like to take a look to see how you can help your student at home. ELAThe class did very well on their first opinion essay! I have inputted their scores for that assignment on Powerschool and left comments on their GoogleDoc to save paper. We will begin working on their last essay for this unit in about 2 weeks or so. I look forward to reading about their opinions on our novel, The River Between Us. After this unit we will begin our research unit called "Breaking Barriers". Students will learn about how people have broken down barriers in their sports. For example, Jackie Robinson and how he broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball. Social Studies/ ReligionWe will be continuing on with the Colonial time period and beginning to learn about how the early Colonists created their own government and what that means for their future with England. In religion we are focusing on Lent and continuing to learn about forgiveness. Not only receiving it from God but from others and also how we can forgive others. ScienceIn Science we have finished our Sun & Earth unit! I will be providing the class with a study guide this week and their test will be March 13th. In our next unit we will be learning about mixtures and solutions! In our first experiment we will be making explosions in a bag :) Important Dates3/05: End of Trimester 2
