MathWe are continuing with adding and subtracting fractions through the month of February! The class did very well on their Mid Module tests :) We should be finishing Module 3 by the end of the month. Module 4 we will be moving on to multiplying and dividing fractions. ELAAs we finish learning about boy soldiers in the Civil War the class will be writing an opinion paragraph about if they think participating in the Civil War helped or hurt the boy soldiers. In about 2 weeks or so we will begin reading our next novel, The River Between Us. Social Studies & ScienceWe are wrapping up our Explorers unit and the class will begin working on their Explorer project. Each student will select an explorer to report on. They will do research to find the country they sailed for, voyages taken, and places discovered. Students will be required to put this information on a figure (supplied by me) and decorate it to reflect the likeness of their explorer. They will be given class time to work on this project but it may take some time at home to complete. In science we are almost done with our Earth, Moon, and Sun unit!
